If you can manage the size and high cost, it certainly will be worth your while.. And yet on a more down-to-earth level these are very accessible, nice scenic pictures that look great on calendars, postcards, and computer desktops. It is worth remembering that all illustrations are in color and importantly, they are generously sized and sometimes there are enlargements. As an artist, if you are going to get one art law book, buy this one.. Buy me one of those for Xmas, please.
Check them out when you are in San Francisco.. 100 of Kawase Hasui's prints, arranged in chronological order and finely reproduced with great care in full color and as large as the book's format will allow (the format being large enough to show off the prints to advantage without being unwieldy to hold and peruse). Unfortunately this set of books does not provide the spectrum of manuscripts that reflect the wonderful examples that exist to date.
