Introduction to Thermodynamics and Heat Transferprovides balanced coverage of the basic concepts of thermodynamics and heat transfer.Together with the clear an numerous illustrations, student-friendly writing style, and manageable math, this is an ideal text for an introductory thermal science course for non-mechanical engineering majors. Continuing in the tradition of Cengel/Boles: Thermodynamics, this lavishly illustrated text presents the key topics in thermodynamics and heat transfer, in a highly accessible student-friendly fashion. The flexibly organized text can accommodate courses that spend anywhere from 1/3rd to 2/3rds or more of class time on thermodynamics and the rest on key heat transfer topics. The intuitive approach is supported by a wealth of physical explanations and analogies that draw parallels between the subject and the students' everyday experiences. Many of the 150 thoroughly worked out examples and almost 2,000 real-world problems, hi
Editorial : About the AuthorYunus A. Cengel is Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University. His areas of interest are renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy policies, heat transfer enhancement, and engineering education. He served as the Director of the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at the University of Nevada, Reno, from 1996 to 2000. He has led teams of engineering students to numerous manufacturing facilities in Northern Nevada and California to perform industrial assessments, and has prepared energy conservation, waste minimization, and productivity enhancement reports for them. He has also served as an advisor for various government organizations and corporations.
Dr. Cengel is also the author or coauthor of the widely adopted textbooks Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Science
Of her two-year old tantrums she explains, "I felt I was not only the prey of grown-up wills, but also of their consciences, which sometimes played the role of a kindly mirror in which I was unwillingly and unrecognisably reflected". When you can't think of a thing to give your outdoor guys, this is it. He is also frank with his opinions about the law, the court, its institutions and even a few judges and lawyers, some of whom have found themselves drummed out of the corps.
As a judge, the author will be remembered for having presided over the first live trial to be televised nationally, Carol Burnett v. It was less philosophical and more self-indulgent than I had hoped, but an interesting insight into a prized mind.. Rather than just stopping with descriptions of WHAT Mathcad Prime 3.0 can do (like most manuals), Maxfield offers useful commentary on HOW to use Mathcad Prime 3.0. 100 of Kawase Hasui's prints, arranged in chronological order and finely reproduced with great
