Editorial : About the Author Randy Johnson is an accomplished travel editor and writer. He founded Grandfather Mountain's modern trail management program in 1978, was backcountry manager until 1990, and serves on Grandfather Mountain State Park's Advisory Committee.

The book is very helpful and pretty up to date, covering not only the older forms of art like painting and sculpture, but also new forms like digital imagery. And yet on a more down-to-earth level these are very accessible, nice scenic pictures that look great on calendars, postcards, and computer desktops. A really important book for a photographer who's starting business in usa. I have learned a lot in this book that i can apply in the future.. 100 of Kawase Hasui's prints, arranged in chronological order and finely reproduced with great care in full color and as large as the book's format will allow (the format being large enough to show off the prints to advantage without being unwieldy to hold and peruse). Also featured is William Morris's charming Book of Verse (1870). I would advise looking elsewhere- such as "understanding Exposure" by Brian Peterson and then read Scott Kelby's "Digital Photography" serieswhich does a better job of explaining / recommending related products.
