The book is very helpful and pretty up to date, covering not only the older forms of art like painting and sculpture, but also new forms like digital imagery. I've always been fascinated with dreams and Dead Asleep just adds to that fascination. Justin Sandercoe has the best videos (that I know of) for learning string bending and vibrato.. The book considers for the most part music written between 1827, when Beethoven died and the composers Rosen studies were reaching adulthood, and 1850. But then, the book takes a really self-indulgent turn. She had the opportunity to attend college, and she married a great guy.
