I felt this side-story wasn't well developed and gave the book almost a "transition" feel to it.
Although I had a difficult time connecting to the story, there are many gems within Tangle of Need. He meets Claire, a woman with narcolepsy, who appears to know and share Kevin's dreams. Tristan has to go to work, and leaves Kat to meet her favorite porn star.
While Kat and her friends walk around the different booths she recognizes a face--but she can't believe it. Their volatile nature leaves them alternating between lust and frustration, desire and denial. Good for introducing the various types of machines and associated tooling. My only true critique is that the answers to the end of chapter questions are not included.. He mentions CVD laws briefly in his section on subsidies, but the purpose of this section is mainly to illustrate another possible cause of dumping.
