Editorial : About the Author Joseph Rudyard Kipling (30 December 1865 – 18 January 1936) was an English short-story writer, poet, and novelist. He was born in Bombay, in the Bombay Presidency of British India, and was taken by his family to England when he was five years old. Near the end of his time at the school, it was decided that he lacked the academic ability to get into Oxford University on a scholarship and so his father obtained a job for him in Lahore, Punjab. Kipling was to be assistant editor of a small local newspaper, the Civil & Military Gazette. On 9 March 1889, Kipling left India, travelling first to San Francisco via Rangoon, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. He then travelled through the United States, writing articles for The Pioneer. In the course of this journey, he met Mark Twain. He then crossed the Atlantic, and reached Liverpool in October 1889. On 18 January 1892, he married Carrie Balestier.

A collection of five short stories; The Phantom 'Rickshaw; My Own True Ghost Story; The Strange Ride Of Morrowbie Jukes; The Man Who Would Be King; and, 'The Finest Story In The World'. "One of the few advantages that India has over England is a great Knowability. After five years' service a man is directly or indirectly acquainted with the two or three hundred Civilians in his Province, all the Messes of ten or twelve Regiments and Batteries, and some fifteen hundred other people of the non-official caste. In ten years his knowledge should be doubled, and at the end of twenty he knows, or knows something about, every Englishman in the Empire, and may travel anywhere and everywhere without paying hotel-bills. Globe-trotters who expect entertainment as a right, have, even within my memory, blunted this open-heartedness, but none the less to-day, if you belong to the Inner Circle and are neither a Bear nor a Black Sheep, all houses are open to you, and our small world is very, very kind

It gives a good overview of the history of biochar and what it could do for our future.. My only problem with Marchand is that he does not, and really, cannot gauge the effect these ads had on people. Needless to say, I was not satisfied with this book or the author. I dont want this book on my shelf.. While passing through Russia, they stop at a hut and ask Baboushka if she will join them. Lingus was well written and original. I felt this side-story wasn't well developed and gave the book almost a "transition" feel to it.

Although I had a difficult time connecting to the story, there are many gems within Tangle of Need. How could a man who wrote some of the most moving music and insightful music dramas in Western civiilzation be such a defective human being? Brener sets out to understand Wagner the man in human perspective and succeeds admirably. If this is your thing, this book delivers in spades! Well worth the time!. The duke is so cruel he brings his mistress to a ball
