Read by Charlotte Anne Dore The books in this highly entertaining series never fail to please - and never fall short of their mark. Matilda, Duchess of Hadshire, is virtually a prisoner of her cruel husband, who romances his mistress right under the duchess' nose. Her only joy is dreaming of the handsome Earl of Torridon - for like her, he is trapped in a horrid marriage and longs to find true love and happiness. Though she secretly wishes for the death of her unkind husband, Matilda never could have imagined the guilt that plagues her when the illustrious duke is befittingly murdered by his own mistress! When Matilda turns to Torridon for comfort, she discovers a few surprises are in store for both of them.

A wonderful portrayal of an idea growing into an actual full-fledged college. Yawn. It. I thought the author did a great job in capturing the unique sense of place of both the High Sierra and spots like the Humboldt State University campus in Arcata. At issue is the desire to enhance beauty with cosmetics versus toxic contamination to the individual as well as the environment.
Well-researched by environmental journalist, Kim Erickson, the book presents the shocking information of the chemical poisoning of consumers by a large percentage of products sold by the beauty industry. But, I have never met Loretta, so that characterization may not be inaccurate. A bump
