Editorial : From the Back CoverDo you know the difference between being a “guy ” and being a man? The key is to live by a code. When you know and respect the codes for being a man, you hold the principles that will guide you into the life you were meant to lead. It starts at a specific point in time —when you get facedown before God and He begins to chisel whatever needs to go. Getting “facedown” is not about you kissing the floor; it’s a heart attitude that allows God to shape and hone your chin of steel—your character—to a fine and durable strength that can take all the punches life throws at you. In Chiseled, authors Shaun Blakeney and Marcus Brotherton will help you develop your code by examining the truths of timeless instruction from the Bible; by looking at the beliefs, behaviors and attitudes that can harm you; and by showing you what it means to develop a wise and skillful approach to living. Their stories reveal important stuff they’v
Chiseled encourages, inspires, and challenges young men to integrate into their lives the components of what it means to become a real man. Those components comprise a code that all men need to learn, which includes chivalry, integrity and honor, self-control, financial stewardship, a strong work ethic, and more. This book is filled with practical wisdom for young men who want to live meaningful lives. Readers will discover the balance between liberty and responsibility, and will learn the durable truths that will impact them for a lifetime. Blakeney and Brotherton invite young men to take a step forward to maturity and then continue to step forward for a lifetime of purpose and direction that will positively impact all around them. This is a respectful and direct call for male maturity.
In the end though I didn't feel it was quite enough. Their former commander, Roman Chernichenko, has been promoted to a desk job.
Andrew Whitney is the head of the Goddard Project; Beth (she's four months pregnant, but daddy doesn't know) is his daughter married to Ethan Crane, another spy. But it took a long time to get there. I wanted to be spiritually trained to run the marathon of life and to experience all that God had in store for me. Just couldn't sink my mentals into this reading. It is incredibly confusing and entirely filled with jargon. This is my second read by this author, and certainly not my last. Noah is for sure an alpha and loves his woman. In particular the book lover should be thrilled by the beautiful and accurate color reproductions of the illuminated manuscripts. I'm not even sure if this is the series ending or if there will be another book. This is a very practical and readable mix of lessons learned and the strategies needed to move forward on a car
